Spotlight on Denmark online gambling market GGR

For Spillemyndigheden, the Danish gambling regulator, the growth in the country’s online casino market was one of the main reasons for the gross gaming revenue annual increase in 2016.

The market of sports betting
The increase of the total sports betting market was 8.8% compared to 2015, which finished 2016 with a strong DKK2.2 billion in GGR. DKK1.4 billion of this was made by the online betting market, while the overall amount caught everyone by surprise considering the low profitability during the fourth quarter.
