Dutch online players will enjoy playing legal games in January 2021

Playing online casino games has become a favourite form of entertainment for millions of people all over the world. The online gambling industry has shown rapid growth. New internet based markets appear in many countries all around the globe.
The online gaming market has finally been approved by the legislation of Holland to open in January 2021
After the New Year this year the Dutch Senate voted for the legalization of online gaming in the country. In this way the long-waited legislation to legalize internet based gambling has finally happened. Dutch companies as well as foreign ones will have the possibility to apply for gambling licenses.
The interest is huge - more than 300 firms have shown interest in starting online gambling business in the Netherlands.
If everything goes under the plan the Dutch online gaming market is going to open on the 1st of January, 2021.
As you can expect there is much work to be done by the KSA (Kansspelautoriteit) on the new regulations. The main aim is to bring the Remote Gambling Act into effect in July, 2020. After this date permit applications are going to be processed.
All the good news about Dutch online gambling market have been announced at the annual Gaming conference in Holland. As a priority for the next two years will be the managing of the licensing process. This is in context with the new Remote Gambling Act. Due to the size of the KSA the process will demand a lot of organization. Probably the current employees will be overloaded and extra staff will be employed.
At the conference of the KSA the Chairman suggested the idea that companies should enter the market early rather than later. Companies that are already interested in obtaining a license can visit the KSA website and fill in a form stating their intent to operate online in Holland. The main idea is to avoid an overload of applications. There will be also more time to process and handle the requests submitted.
It will be important for the KSA to know the approximate number of operators that are planning to apply for a license when the procedure officially opens in 2020. When the licensing process is properly organized it will ensure a smooth process for both the KSA and the interested companies.
The process of changes with the Dutch online gambling market is a real fact. It might still be quite some time before it officially opens, but at least the wheel has been put into motion.
The KSA are doing everything to better organize the process of submitting and handling the applications. The number of operators showing interest is quite big.
Within two years Dutch online players will enjoy playing legally their favourite games in a range of new online casinos.
