Discussion on gambling law will be started at Dutch Senate

In many countries there have been endless discussions and changing of gambling bills. A welcoming approach to the favourite form for pastime has been approved in some countries. In other countries changes take too long time.
Dutch land-based and online gambling industry will be changed significantly with the debates that will be started at the Senate.
Several years ago the Dutch House of Representatives approved discussions to be started about the legislation of the gambling industry. The latest news show that very soon the Senate Committee for Justice and Security will start discussion about the online gambling and the bills for privatization of Holland casino.
The debates will cover all new amendments to the relevant casino bills
The Remote Gambling Bill was approved in 2016 by the Dutch House of Representatives. According to this bill the regulation and liberalization of the online gambling market in Holland was allowed. The new bill will allow foreign operators to apply for licensing to operate in Holland.
Only when the Senate gives its approval the decisions can become valid as a law. According to the preliminary agreement gaming and betting companies based in the European Union or the European Economic Area will not be obliged to establish offices in Holland to operate. From the other hand, any company located outside the EU/EEA will have to find offices within the country if they want to offer their services within the country.
The other topic that will be discussed includes the privatization of Holland Casino. It is currently operated by the state. The ownership for the Holland Casino would be split into fourteen branches. Four will be sold separately and the other ten will remain part of the Holland Casino brand.
We will be waiting for the time when the Senates discussion and decisions regarding the Online Gambling Bill and privatization of Holland Casino have been made public.
